Hello! My name is Sharika Hawkins, owner of Mama Hawkins Sweets and Treats! 

I was born and raised as the only child of my parents in Winston-Salem, NC. I began baking at an early age. I've watched my granny, grandma, and mom bake and teach me how to cook and bake in the kitchen. 

The name "Mama Hawkins" came from two of my former students. These students looked up to me like I was their mother in school. Although I am not a mother yet, I am a teacher to several students that I truly have the pleasure of teaching. 

I can cook, but my true passion is baking. I love to bake because it is something that I love to do! Also, when people taste my desserts, I love to see their reactions and reviews of them. 

The vision of Mama Hawkins Sweets and Treats came to me in 2025 while sitting in a bible study group one day and now it has become a dream come true for me to launch my business in June 2026!
