This loaf has attitude. Savory chili crisp brings a warm, garlicky heat, fresh cilantro adds a bright herbal kick, and roasted sunflower seeds give every slice a delicious nutty crunch. All of it is folded into naturally fermented sourdough for a bold, savory loaf that’s a little spicy, a little crunchy, and ridiculously good toasted.
Ways to enjoy it: Avocado toast with a fried egg; grilled cheese with sharp cheddar, pepper jack, or Monterey Jack; alongside ramen, pho, curry, or stir-fry; toasted and topped with cream cheese and cucumber; dipped in sesame oil or chili crisp; used for an incredible BLT or turkey sandwich; or topped with smashed avocado, lime, and a sprinkle of flaky salt.
My favorite idea: Toast it in a skillet with a little butter, add avocado and a runny fried egg, then drizzle just a tiny bit more chili crisp over the top.
