Welcome to The Midnight Mixer, where dessert is a love language, the oven is almost always on, and there's rarely a bad time for something sweet.

I'm Ivy Chadinha, the Scottish baker behind the chaos, bringing a little taste of home, a hint of Scottish nostalgia and plenty of dessert-fuelled enthusiasm to West Texas.

So, let's talk about how TMM happened...

Honestly? A dare.

The Midnight Mixer launched in June 2025 after my best friend challenged me to turn my baking into something more. What started as a challenge quickly became something much bigger. One order turned into another, new ideas became new products, and a kitchen hobby grew into a registered cottage bakery with a community of customers who keep coming back for more.

Being a very proud Scot and baking in West Texas means my approach to dessert is a little bit of a cultural mash-up. You'll find familiar American favourites alongside British-inspired treats, seasonal creations and the occasional idea that starts with “I wonder if I could turn that into a dessert?”

Everything is made in small batches, with care put into the flavours, the details and the experience of enjoying something that feels a little more special than your everyday sweet treat. I'm not here to make desserts that look pretty and taste like an afterthought. I want the kind of treats you think about long after the last bite, the ones you bring to a gathering, buy as a gift, or keep entirely to yourself.

The Midnight Mixer is a one-woman operation, which means I'm the baker, the planner, the packer, the creative department and occasionally the person wondering why she thought taking on another idea was sensible, but that's part of what makes this little business special. Every order supports a real person building something from the ground up. Every market, collaboration and new flavour is another opportunity to connect with the community around me and bring a little joy to someone's day.

I'm proud of what TMM has become, and I'm even more excited about what comes next.
