Account Settings & Security

Updated October 8, 2025

The Account page is where you manage your login credentials, email notification preferences and account status.

🛡️ Login Settings

For Email & Password accounts:

If you registered using email and password (not Google OAuth), you can update your password:

  1. Enter your Current Password
  2. Enter your New Password
  3. Click Update Password

💡 Note: Users who signed up with Google OAuth manage their password through their Google account.

📧 Email Alert Settings

Control which email notifications you receive:

You can disable email notifications if you prefer not to receive automated emails for:

  • New Quotes
  • New Orders
  • Accepted Quotes
  • ... and more

⚠️ Not Recommended: Disabling notifications makes it easy to miss important updates about quotes, orders and payments. We recommend keeping notifications enabled to stay informed.

👤 Account Status

If you need to temporarily or permanently stop using Bakebug:

Deactivate Your Account:

  • Removes your shop from public access
  • Customers will no longer be able to visit your shop URL
  • Your data remains saved for when you return
  • You can reactivate anytime

Before deactivating:

  • Complete any outstanding orders
  • Respond to pending quote requests
  • Inform customers of the closure
  • Archive completed orders for clean records

⚠️ Important: Deactivation removes your shop from public access immediately. Consider this carefully before proceeding.

🎯 Best Practices

  • Use a strong, unique password for your Bakebug account
  • Keep email notifications enabled to avoid missing important updates
  • Update your password regularly for security
  • Only deactivate your account if you’re certain you want to stop accepting orders

Your account settings give you control over security and communication — keeping your bakery business safe and connected! 🛡️
