Manage the storefront gallery and reusable images
Upload, crop, categorize and show gallery images, and check where an image is used.
Open Gallery to manage the image library used by your storefront and editors. Product images can appear in this library automatically; being in the library does not by itself make an image visible in the public gallery.
Upload and organize
- Open All, a category, or Uncategorized. Use the upload area to choose your photos.
- Complete Adjust Image Position for each selected file. Confirm the crop and wait for upload to finish before leaving.
- Use an image's category control to organize it. Manage Categories lets you create, rename, reorder or delete gallery categories. Deleting a gallery category leaves its images uncategorized.
- Turn on the image's public visibility control to include it in the storefront gallery. Turn it off to hide it there while keeping it in the library for other uses.
- Open the storefront Gallery to verify the public result, including the category order.
Gallery visibility and image shape
The grid uses square thumbnails even when the saved asset has a different shape. The orientation indicator distinguishes a wide header image from a standard image; choose an appropriate shape when reusing an image in an editor.
Usage indicators identify images associated with products, events, presales or other content. Hiding an image from the public gallery does not remove the product's own photo. Similarly, a product appearing in the library is not a claim that the product itself is published or orderable.
Delete with the usage information in view
Use the image's delete icon and read Delete Image?. If the asset is in use, review the listed references and acknowledge the impact before Delete Anyway becomes available. Shared images may be used outside the gallery; deleting them can remove those references. If you only want the photo off the storefront gallery, use its visibility control. Verify both the gallery and the affected editor after a deletion.
