Manage a subscription and its upcoming occurrences
Edit the recurring agreement, skip or reschedule one occurrence, and diagnose failures.
Open Subscriptions and select the customer's subscription. The agreement and its occurrences are different records: the agreement describes future recurrence, and each occurrence tracks an attempted or scheduled order.
Change future orders
Review the product/options, frequency, discount, fulfillment details and customer notes. Use the save control for the section you edited, such as Save Discount, Save Contract Changes, or the frequency section's Save, and read any confirmation about the future schedule. A frequency change may clear pending skips; review the confirmation before applying it.
Changes to the agreement do not automatically rewrite an already-generated order. Open that order separately for its items, payments, cancellation or refund.
Act on an occurrence
- Skip this occurrence prevents generating an order for that date. Check the resulting Skipped entry.
- Change target date reschedules an eligible upcoming occurrence. Check the new fulfillment date and resulting availability.
- Execute now attempts generation immediately when available. The confirmation can offer Bypass inventory limits for this execution only and Bypass date availability checks for this execution only. These apply to that attempt; they do not rewrite the store's stock or Calendar schedule.
- An occurrence linked to an order should be investigated through that order. Review failures/logs before retrying so you do not confuse an unpaid generated order with a failed generation.
Pause, resume and cancel
Use Pause to stop future recurring activity and Resume when appropriate. Cancel ends the agreement; inspect existing orders separately. Pending card authorization must be completed by the customer using the secure authorization flow before automatic card charging can proceed.
The per-subscription inventory/fulfillment override switches affect later generation. Use them deliberately and confirm their saved state. Upcoming subscription reminders are configured in Messaging and are measured before order generation, which can be earlier than fulfillment.
