Categories help organize your products and make your shop easy to navigate.

📋 Category List View

See all your categories in one place:

• Category Name
• Product Count
• Quick Actions (Edit, Delete)

🔄 Reordering Categories

Control the order categories appear in your shop:

1. Find the drag handle (⋮⋮) on the left of each category
2. Click and drag to reorder
3. Don’t forget to click Save to commit changes

💡 Tip: Put your most popular or seasonal categories at the top.

➕ Creating New Categories

1. Click New Category
2. Enter a Category Name (e.g. "Wedding Cakes", "Cookies", "Seasonal")
3. Save

Categories are created empty — you’ll add products to them from the product editor.

✏️ Editing Categories

Click any category to open the editor, where you can:

Change Category Name

Update the name anytime — all products in the category update automatically.

Sort Products Within the Category

Products appear in a list beneath the category name. Drag the handle (⋮⋮) on the left of each product to reorder.

This controls the order products appear under this category on your shop.

🗑️ Deleting Categories

You can delete any category that has zero products assigned to it.

If a category has products:

• Reassign products to another category first
• Then delete the empty category

⚠️ Note: You cannot delete a category with products — this prevents accidental data loss.

🎯 Best Practices

• Use clear, simple category names (avoid abbreviations)
• Create categories based on how customers shop (e.g. by occasion, type or dietary need)
• Don’t over-categorize — 4-8 categories is usually ideal
• Sort products within each category by popularity or season
