Sell in person (markets and walk-ins)

Ring up a sale at a market or counter.

The first time, open Sell In Person and select Enable Sell In Person.

  1. Tap product tiles to add them to the sale.
  2. Optional: add a customer, a coupon, or redeem their loyalty points or gift card.
  3. Choose how they paid:
    • Cash — select Record cash sale.
    • Card via Square (Tap to Pay) — select Open Square for card. This opens the Square Point of Sale app on your phone, where the customer taps or inserts their card. When Square confirms the payment, it returns you to Bakebug and the sale is recorded. You need Square connected and enabled under Business → Payment Methods (this still works with Subscriptions & Sell In Person turned on), and the Square Point of Sale app installed on the phone.
    • Venmo, Cash App, Interac e-Transfer, PayID or another method offered in your country, or Other — select Complete sale after you've received the money.
  4. Each sale is saved as a normal order in Orders.

Choose which products show as tiles, and their order, in Sell In Person Settings.

For an external payment app, recording the method is bookkeeping; verify that the money arrived before completing the sale. For Square, wait for the return/payment result and check the resulting order before retrying a payment after an interruption.

The resulting order is where you review its payment and perform any later refund. A sale marked as cash or Other cannot be refunded through the Square integration as though Square had collected it.
