Product options, add-ons and pricing
Sizes, flavours, add-ons, bundles and tiered pricing.
Open a product and choose the controls that match what the customer needs to select, then save and try the product on your storefront.
- Variations collect choices such as size or flavour. Select a Response Type, give the variation a Name and instructions, and configure its options. Use required choices and selection limits where appropriate. For tracked options, enter the option inventory as well as any main product stock.
- Add-Ons attach other products, such as candles. They use the add-on's fixed base price; its variations, packs, tier pricing and other complex pricing do not apply. An add-on cannot have its own add-ons. Add-on Only Product is useful for an item you do not sell separately.
- Quantity Rules control minimum/maximum quantities and packs. In a pack, Units per Pack specifies base units consumed; a dozen should consume 12. You can set a custom pack price and cost.
- Tier Pricing changes the unit price at quantity thresholds. Check both a quantity below the threshold and one at the threshold.
- Pricing → Price Type supports a fixed price or custom pricing, with a starting-price or price-upon-request display. Review the product's direct-checkout setting when you expect customers to request a quote.
- Bundle combines component products and quantities. Its availability depends on the components and their required choices.
For example, use a variation for a cake's flavour, an add-on for candles, and a pack for six identical cupcakes. These controls have different pricing and stock effects.
