Set stock limits and daily capacity
Limit how many of a product can be ordered.
Open the product, find Stock Management, and choose the kind of limit you need.
- Enable Track Main Product Stock to limit the main product quantity.
- With Daily Inventory Mode off, enter Product Stock: the stock available across regular orders. Set 0 to make the tracked main stock unavailable.
- With Daily Inventory Mode on, enter Daily Stock Limit: capacity for each fulfillment date. For example, a limit of 12 lets you sell up to 12 for Friday and another 12 for Saturday. It is not a limit on orders placed today.
- Save. For an existing product using daily inventory, View/Adjust Daily Counts lets you inspect and adjust a particular date's used count.
The daily-mode switch also applies to tracked variation options; it can be on even when main product stock tracking is off. Check the variation's inventory settings when one flavour or size is unavailable.
Limits that work together
- A product's Order Pool provides a shared ceiling across its assigned products. Raising the product stock does not increase the pool's remaining capacity.
- A required variation with no available options can make a product sold out even with main stock remaining.
- A bundle uses its component availability. Replenish the constrained component or its options/pool.
- Quantity Rules limit what one customer can order; they do not create stock. Packs consume their Units per Pack in base inventory: two packs of 6 consume 12 units.
Presales have their own product, option, component and pool limits. Edit those inside the presale; regular product stock and Order Pools are not its inventory configuration.
After changing a limit, check the product as a customer with the intended options, quantity and fulfillment date. See why a product is sold out.
